There was one where he discussed the Magical Negro. A good listen.I heard it and like most, I alway respect his perspective because, even if you agree or whole heartly disagree, his points either weaken your stance or enhance it. Regardless, hearing well though out arguments should always enhance your point.

One of those points was the Magical Negro comment, most made famous during the first your of the President, in 2009. While I agree on the Bagger Vance of magic, Black folks have to portray in movies to help ease White America fear of a Black superpowered hero , pre Obama. Claiming Obama had to be magical to even win, yeah but being educated as seen as magical, is where that confused me. Unlike Bagger Vance, Obama, is a real dude. He went to real college and has a real law degree from an actual Ivy League school. His wife is not only real but, his kids are not juking on the White House lawn to Piles.

I remember when a White college professor was trying to “bond” by agreeing, the Cosby Show wasn’t really real. I guess she must have heard some work-release dude beefing. I quickly responded with a simple “What, Black people don’t go to college?” And thats what we really have to evaluate. See Sidney Potiter’s characters, Tariq pointed out were magical but, my problem was, I actually knew/know people like that. So for me, it confused me again. Asking around about what movies Black folks watch, a lot of them had never even seen anything past the Color Purple or Dolomite. And I thought, what does that do if you grow up never seeing people in charge, not only in movies but in real life. Does it expose insecurities and set low standards? Does it shed light on a sadden atmosphere or does it just create an irresponsible midset for people to think of it as so unobtainable its “Magical”.

See for me, before I moved to Chicago, the hood was magical too me. Seeing Black generals in the military; Black people well versed in foreign languages and culture, seeing a Black mayors in Atlanta or even seeing Black millionaires as a child, I never knew Black people could even celebrate a baby shower for a 12 girl like a Bar Mitzvah or tell their children to play dumber to raise monthly supplemental checks.

Living in Chicago’s wild hunin’s helped me appreciate how much heart is in the hood. I didn’t stick my nose up but, learned and observed to respect no matter the neighborhood. But, having the life pre-req’s, it also showed me how mentally warped and self sabotaging, they become. Some of the smartest, most savviest business minded people, in the hood are some of the same who think growing up and out of the hood is “Magical.” Its clear the magical mantra has become an elixir to make excuses so, if they fail they get to say, its not like its real any ways.

And so for someone like Tariq, self educated, once homeless and now a successful best selling author. I think even he’d laugh at the fact, trying to sell him and who he is on people in and out the hood, now they don’t even think HE’s real. Now how is that for magical. lol

Yep, its that time again, where a whole race completely ignores the greatest truths about modern struggles and advancements to simply talk about slavery, hot-combs, and “Did You Know” so- in’ soo really invented, while interrupting a very special episode of Moesha. And to really annoy you, hearing those annoying kids talk in that shouting condescending patgent voice about who they really are and how they are going to be somebody.

Yep, its Black History. When I was little I really enjoyed this time because I learned new things. As a kid, you love that part, if your wise enough to know why, so early. Like I mentioned, staying in Atlanta for a bit, I was able to not only live down the street from the King house, we knew the family and had enough to respect to say mam’ when ever we saw Correta Scott King. Believe it or not, meeting them, around the same time seeing actual Klans members, really gave me respect, even after being hated on for not “really” being Black by actual Black folks. I think I should spend every Black history month noting racist things Black folks actually do, to know progress and all.

See for me the 1940′s, ie Black Resinnsace era is for me personally Black America’s golden era. Black ppl hated Welfare, men collectively rolled up tailored sleeves to change a tire without copin out; women still collective cooked without attitude; there were too many actual racist people around to actually blame racism for EVERYTHING, Why? Too many Black Americans expanded in literature, college, science, music, business, all while still having a possibility to get hung.

The hyper educated, were mainly blameless, and knew how to have a good time, for what now most pro hyper Black to Africa people would call cooning. Ironically there were more functioning and educated families at that time then now. So who’s the coon?

So I’m going to call out the Black to Africa’s who are usually Muslim and to settle and make point about everything being the White slave owners….Black people were slaves in Africa…before White people picked them up. Sure, Black people were Kings and Queens but they have servants…we call them slaves. But thats not my point…the ARAB SLAVE trade is one thing I never understood how it some how is always left out every BHM. For some reason people either ignore it or what? I dunno

So the most notorious slavery movemnt in human history was purported by the Arabs and then picked up by Whites. Can someone explain how there are so many Pro Black Muslims who make note about slavery and racial injustice and seemingly well read, always leave this big major historical event out? The way I see it, if we all looked at that moment in the 40′s EVERYONE was a minority, ironically even the Irish. My main thing, I understand Black pride, its good to motivate but, it does seem strange when the Black Renaissance movement started to die off, Black pride replace actual Black productiveness. And if anyone knows a proud person, that’s usually code for insecure.

Its just sad that Black Americans are ignoring some of the most pivotal movements over many generations to be proud about people and places they may not even be from or apart of. The truth is always better story than the lie.

So while surfing the net, I saw an ad by AMEX on giving money to small businesses. I said cool, let see what this is about. And just like I thought, same damn thing.

Okay I’m going to ask this but seriously, if everyone is so concerned about everyone why is so much stuff wrong? Once again every start up business, esp small seems to have to have this philanthropic angle in order to receive funding now days. So the question is still on the table, do you have to have some community organization outreach to be allowed to run a business nowdays? And if most business can’t last without giving money, how is it so much stuff is wrong with kids or whomever?

You see an angel investor and now he’s look for mountain woman in Chile to make tiny hats for the greater good of her community. Or some dude in the Congo to make leather belts to feed his family. I checked and that is the deal all over and at one point, it used to be okay for ppl in the US do the same.

I understand fair trade but, that beef is with the ppl runing the country. And its starting to seem like US has to give away for everyone else. But everyone else, you keep yours.

At this rate I should start a strip club and say its a fitness center for girls with low self-esteem, aimed to empower them for their community, NO ACORN. As harsh as it is to compare a stripper dodging bullets in the US to a chick in African dodging bullets. Is it really that much of a difference? In most communities now days, they are facing third world type conditions if they made a good mint, would they have to give up a portion of their money, despite the fact they would be creating jobs?

JOBS used to be the only philanthropic duty and maybe a co-worker picnic but, in this day and age some of our most renown American brands, would have never received the okay to expand or exists in this new business model. Imagine Heinz Ketchup having to bid for a grant to see who would trick off the most to get something.

Let’s face it the new funding is simply a grant and it appears through protocol, most small business will have to go non profit in order to stay afloat. And to me it seems like, you give us a cut or your done type of deal is really scare and I wont even use the term you were waiting to hear…

A whole year after the “recognized” economic melt down. And within this year, every theory I’ve shelved out as suspected to happen within the rest of this month and October, is on path. Sure, this month is nearly over but many are whispering about a Bank Holiday being inevitable at the end of the year, which to me is heard uttered on tv, once every month, since like January of 2007.

Most of the stuff on this site, when I wrote was a theory I had based on the facts presented. And ironically major newspapers seem to either be catching on to what I’ve been insinuating…or visiting this site. Either way, whatever, just glad what I’m noticing is finally reaching the masses and if I’m getting thought jacked, I want my observations (as others) used for us to survive not for me to get glory on ppl’s hard knocks.

For the most, I’ve tried to stay away from heresy and despite what people thought when blogging, if you notice now, many things suggested are starting to become approved, and slowly pointing to my more extreme observations. With that being said, I now wonder this. Is it time to invest in some good camping equipment?

Besides the number of potential and immediate foreclosures going up in my area. It’s to the point we are starting to have rat problems from the all the people leaving. In addition state jobs are now getting wonky and a “Bank Holiday” labeled conspiracy at the moment, seems like a inevitable fix for a long problem. Why would a holiday for a bank be bad? The stopping of funds to me seems like a big ol’ overdraft fee nightmare. Just imagine if your bills still came and your money didn’t, now just put the state in the place of yours. One thing people don’t realize, debt never sleeps. And a good example of that happen last month.

As in a number of US states, temporarily closing down government and requesting workers furlong days, I had to spot my mom because of game playing in her state. Never late on her mortgage, the damn state’s check bounced on her, leaving her trying put out fires that stemmed from a deposited and withdraw from the state. This is a potential result of a Bank Holiday mess. Its not like she’s on aid, this is like a damn school. If they can’t even pay teachers? Thats a big wtf. I mean she’s good now but, I just don’t feel comfortable with government jobs, deemed stable being, you know, unstable.

Which bothers me for states and a possible wavering of aid programs. If they think ninjas act up now wait until that aid check doesn’t come or some other poor neighborhood across the US that gets to a crazed breaking point. The biggest irony of Katrina, a lot of people stayed in their homes because it was near the end of the month, people thought waiting for that aid check would get them enough money to bounce. When it didn’t come, thats when people ran to the dome as a last resort, instead of evacuating earlier. If Katrina happened on the 1st or 2nd of the month, we’d might have had a different story. But even still, the others which jobs dreaded going to work to avoid a pay cut, thought showing up to work while the largest destructive storm in US history, would hold off until they got the Western Union. Not sure if thats why they spazzed out but, if you wait on your check for food with no storm, the seduction of lawlessness can kick in, when a storm breaks down order.

I’m not sure what will be come of most but, but, I don’t think its conspiracy anymore to purchase a tent and some supplies, just in case. I mean there is a fine line between conspiracy and common sense. But, we know deep down inside how people get when things go a little wrong, just that right amount of pressure can turn an annoyance into a history chapter.

Emergency Banking Act – Wikipedia

Anyone can be famous. Anyone. You don’t need practice or skills, or even positive thinking. You just need the ear of an influenctial person willing to exploit an agenda. And then from there, you are one iPhone commercial, movie soundtrack or MTV reality theme song away from being able to call yourself the greatest.

If you are a musician/producer, you don’t need to know to play an instrument. You really don’t need to know how to act, sing (or rap). Your product could be completely pointless but, with the right machine behind you, anyone can fall victim to cult (ure) status, and propel you to stardom.

I’m sure I’m not alone where someone, or something becomes a success overnight and you hear someone say, “I can do that.” See that, that right there is what concerns me about our perception of famous people and how easy it is to criticize, not the people they are but based on what they do. Because there is an assumption, or correctly so a revelation that the person that seems to be so famous, never really took an effort to be great, if I just network enough and be patient, its bound to happen. Its when it doesn’t happen and people can’t figure out, they can’t sing, I sing/rapper,etc better than them, why are they famous…thus the nasty society develops.

I mean evidently some people are great enough to keep the cogs in entertainment and business going but, the people on the forefront have created this faux pas of success that makes anyone and everything think its that damn easy, because the know something is missing in that celeb. They know who will still be around so, some people put them on ice and return back to them. The people where if you removed the marketing or the fame, fast forward time, they would be destined for success, regardless.

We are no longer at that point, and it seems the side effect are fans, consumers what ever that sees the once admirable celeb as lucky or dare I said, microwaveable, instant and easily defeat-able.

Now direspecting the effort it might have taken to become this powerhouse, it seems to lead to many questionable comments online and produces more haters than skeptics. Now your wondering what is the difference. A skeptic can show proof because people with talent have hardcore proof you can see, hold, hell..google. A microwave celeb seems to have an ambigous past. No past works, just seem to appear out of no where. Skeptics usually figure these people out fast because they live for the research, they sense something is missing. If they find nothing, it gets worse, until they find an answer.

A hater, dislikes someone like, Beyonce, Destiny’s Child, even all the way back to maybe even Girls Time, because of the complements. Most of the people who disliked them, never took into account the hours of practice those girls put forth, before they became this powerhouse and all of the hidden secrets began to really expose. Despite the supposed shady business practices with Kelly Rowland, you cannot fake running miles, in heels, while singing. You cannot do that for over 5 years and not be an excellent performer. Whethere many like it or not, that is the making of a foundation, an effort your normie would never go the extra mile to commit .

When you see The Roots, or any rapper/producer that plays multiple instruments, that is years of practice and training and it shows in their music. But who cares? The most famous people have no actual skills, which make them more open from attacks from regular people. My guess, the thinking is…”You’re just like me, regular with a million dollar budget.” People begin to lose respect for the real work that goes into becoming what you see before they even perform, or make an album. Especially if they can attempt this skill at home and within a day or even a week, be pretty close…once that happens, oh boy.

More things than ever are accessible. You don’t need an IT team to develop a social networking group. If you have enough friends on youtube, you can just be famous for your cat playing the piano, thus the novelty of idealistic talent has worn off. Even people with the ability to draw in people based on their personality, like lets say a B. Scott, creates a fan based being them, another talent many people have a hard time being. Exceptional people, can be themselves and stand out from a pack.

Either way, it has created a monster of cynical, disrespectful fans that everyday, are thinking of a way to accidentally become famous. Once people, esp online see and feel the effort, the community of “haters” will continue to grow and understand, its not that damn easy…unless you get a hold of the machine. and even then, the people will not let you forget, in real life, you suck, just like them.

The real question is…who really notices why you’d owe more taxes one year and not another year? Granted you do the exact thing every year but seriously, who has the exact same challenges..EVERY single year? Buy the same food, nothing different for 2 whole years, that would be a great way to determine..hay, I only paid/receive $2 less than I did last year.

Let’s be honest, when your taxes are done, you say oooh, I get $ (whatever) back..yay. When you get more back you don’t ask questions. You just take it. Most don’t understand why and rarely ask questions. Maybe the most would be, “I should get more than that back (esp if you itemize).”

The latter is either, you hadn’t paid taxes and people aren’t sure how much they owe at that point but they do know it could be something. Overall, when you owe, it just sucks and you figure out how to pull $2000 out of your ass. As a side note, the government has no gripes about a payment plan. Granted I’ve been lucky enough to not need those resources, a few that I had done taxes for did (seriously you thought 5 years of payroll checks wouldn’t catch up?)

For business, home owners it MIGHT be easier to say, “I see a tax reduction,” but while the federal tax might lower a bit, the local and state taxes go up. So either way, you have to pay someone. I felt a need to blog on this because I got tired of hearing people say, “Oh this stimulus bill, it needs tax cuts, or we just need tax cuts and everything will be okay.” As if they really can tell while or after doing their taxes.

On a side note, why are people calling the stimulus bill socialism? Haven’t taxes themselves put us in that boat a long time ago? Boston tea party and all that mess. I socialism is giving what you have and shareing the wealth…taxes are giving your money to others and sharing the wealth… sorry don’t see the difference. Either way, the socialism argument, we’ve long rode on that train. Especially if you live in a major city. So, I could care less to complain, “now” its all I’ve ever seen in the states.

The only tax cuts people want to see are no taxes, everything else is a half ass attempt to come accross sincere about people’s finances, usually to justify laws, regulations and elections. And also, why is it now American people are so worried about their tax dollars will all of this mess. If tax dollars to bail out everyone was such a big deal, what would happen if only sales taxes or a flat tax was initiated.

Let’s see would you rather pay less for services? Or would you like a phantom tax cut that helps you only owe $3400 dollars you don’t have to a vibrant $325o. I don’t know but I know if you don’t have the money, tax cuts semantics, long talk and need mean nothing to the normal citizen.

Since most are putting their two cents on the Stimulus bill, I got one… something simple and actually not as Socializy as the government ganking a bank…regulate the credit cards..By regulating and refinancing credit card interest rates…I know I’ve said this already (repeatedly) but after this mornings news on bailed out bank showing they really didn’t want [...]

Since most are putting their two cents on the Stimulus bill, I got one… something simple and actually not as Socializy as the government ganking a bank…regulate the credit cards..By regulating and refinancing credit card interest rates…I know I’ve said this already (repeatedly) but after this mornings news on bailed out bank showing they really didn’t want to give out loans (which makes some sense for the serial non paying A-holes). But then, a few days ago it was mentioned these same bailed out banks would raise interest rates even more. I’m done. its clear there is no intention really solve anything. Even if you pay on time, you’ll still get the hose.

I could imagine, the average credit card interest rate getting to 40% and then, would it even matter buying anything with a card? Granted the credit card company lives in bizzaro world, why are they STILL the only creditors not being managed if everything so damn dire? People who were OKAY to sorta GOOD are now becoming deadbeats because now, they have to keep up with their newly jacked up interest rate credit cards. Living on a stable , yet fixed income, I can tell you paying over my minimum and on time since forever, 32.99% seems shady. Not because I have 32.99% (I’ve accepted there is nothing I can do or anyone I complain to) but at this point there is so much talk about $25 extra dollars in your paycheck via the stimulus. I’d actully save more money (& spend more) if they stopped jacking up my interest rates. $25? Sheeet How bout’ 25% interest rate? Its better then nothing.

So here is the plan…its been stated credit card companies make at least $18 Billion…just in fees but there is no real data I’ve found so far that adds up the interest rates, etc. There probably is so excuse my laziness…Banks have already claimed they lose money on deadbeat card owners, but thats bull if you add up the fees.

So for argument sake, 18 Billion the first year, stimulating the economy cause lets face it thats what you do with cards…spend (& pay back). So, for card users who have paid on time for 3 years…let’s give them a 10% decrease in their APR…for card holder who have paid on time and over the minimum 20% decrease.. all decreases depending on an interest rate over 20%. And it should stay that way for 5 years. I dunno, thats my rudimentary theory but hay, its our tax money and if we can talk about dumb gossip, who’s mixtape is hot or which athlete needs to be traded why not talk shit on the economy right?

Update: Since writing this, I went through my mail this morning and opened my WAMU soon to be CHASE [[JPM]] (putting the on BLAST). They have now raised my APR to 34.68%. This means my APR in one year has gone up by 20%. My credit score is 725 and I before the increase I paid over balance by $100 with a $30o payment. I have now paid over $25,000 on a nearly $6000 debt over the course of 5 years. I hate to say this but, its obviously there is purpose sabotage. JP Morgan 1913 all over.
