Let’s make this clear.

The BP Oil disaster is the first and official test of how non stereotyped and inconceivably calm, Obama is as a Black President. Yes I said it. Obama…is not Kanye.

For some reason, the envisioned sight of Obama as far back as the election of him freaking out and crying for a 2am phone call must have still stayed in the impressions for many people. Remember the 2am call. Sure because we aren’t hearing what’s happening, it can seem like he’s not doing anything but, it just seems like it. If anything its probably worse and he’s way cooler that we’d be.

I’ll just say it, there seems to be this comfort of the crying, confused and/or violently emotionally charged Black man that people seem to expect . And this far in his presidency, it seems like people still can’t shake that he’s not led by emotion but strategy. Go figure right.

Now from personal expereince, there is a strange need for people to be comfortaed by a person of color being broke down, flat out angry and in need of help. I dont know if its a matter of other communities thinking, “as long as they’re more jacked up, we can at least sleep knowing, they can’t pass us up in the morning.” But I speculate.

I remember in tennis, our team mental coach said, “when they hit the wall with the racket, they’ve lost their cool.”

When the oppurtinity to exhbit those attributes do present themselves, the slick talk of “too cool,” and even “robotic” comes up, all with the intent verbally expression frustration for failed attempts of manipulation. But, who’s problem is that really.

But has anyone ever thought that despite the freaking out like most people today seem to exhibit, some people just hand problems calmer? And isn’t a calm thinking person in the time of a catastrophe sometime called, um what is that….a LEADER?

I mean seriously, Bobby Jindal my Indian brother seemed to calm people down by freaking out. James Carevel, who is by the looks not White or even human freaked out, that’s okay. Obama said Ass oooh. So they all care, cuz they cuss.

But seriously if Obama acted like Arsenio Hall in Harlem Nights, I’m sure the concensous would be, “I knew that Negro couldn’t handle it.” I’m sure they thought he’d handle BP like this:

Could the calmness and collectiveness of trying to solve this problem expose the real issue (besides the oil situation) that people have with Obama? I mean not to slap a wet baby down but, that region was not the most color friendly and Jindal showed progress. ,But, during the distruibution of stimulus money they didnt want any and now this, they should have had it just as much as NYC with terrorism.

And despite the claims of the industry being ruined by the oil, based on the interviews I’ve seen most were going bankrupt before hand. Granted the addition of Katrina stress hurt. But damn. But I do have to give Jindal probs for stepping up or the boaters being honest and non-handoutish and junk. To be fair. The real question is, could Jindal act like this with flotilla, immigration and this junk on the brain…and be calm.

Personally I’m more disturb at Tennessee response more than anything. But shinny keys.

And to show how bogus Obama would have looked flinching to the suspicions ouf being cold, the Mayor of Alabama, who at first was mad that the President didnt say the coast was viturally clear, is now emotionally embarrassed after people came to their coast for vaycay, based on his clams a week ago, only to encounter oil that he made point was not there.

Now Black folks are not in the clear, they like to envision the dumb “Hill Billy” image on White America. But it is strange how there never seem to be any boaters of color being interviewed. I recall seeing a mad amount of gnerational Asians in a documentary a while back. In all fairness, its jacked up.

I have my thoughts and theories but in the end, the only race I want to see for anything and everywhere, is leadership.

You know for a moment, I almost forgot that with all of the crazies shouting from the rooftops about a secret government, plotting to put us in a fascist state, that there was actually a good amount of ice crackingly crime to put us all over the top. Sure it would be easy to say, they wanna kill us all but what fun would that be? Sorta like giving the plot twist to the Sixth Sense 3 mintues into the movie.

But with the turmoil in cities, is it really going to be that hard and that arm twisting to beg for some sorta of dog, m-16 combo protection to go grocery shopping? Yeah sure, it sounds extreme but, in some cases people will eventually start requesting even harder penalties than the guys up top could even fathom.

See for towns like Chicago, the notion of a police state for places, at least in the Brown & Black neighboorhoods was always one vote away. Sure the Democrat convention riots could spark an ugly sight but, the reality, most ppl who would show up to something like that, or even attended the actual riots, would never even go into the crime ridden neighboorhoods, less than 5 minutes away from the actual location of that historic event. Why? Cause its been creedance to say its only crime when poor people do it.

If there was ever an opportunity for poor to matter, are in these days. More ppl are on public aid than ever, with unemployment at a general 10% poverty is the right nudge to make ppl beg for more protection. Now poor folks are not off the hook and no particular race is either. Many of them have become gang and crime sympathizers and some have gone the lengths of profiting from their communities peril. I mean you dont think ppl like Jesse Jackson get money to live in nice neighborhoods from timeshares do you? You can make a mint, writing a grant to hold press conferences about crime and children and junk like that. And then for many that have BEEN poor, are used to the crime. So the word facist, is a word that doesn’t really apply in the mindset of someone who’s lived in a crime riddled neighborhood. I’d even go as far as saying many ppl Black Americas dont associate with the Holocaust or Stalinist culture that happen over 40 years but do with techincal slavery that happened over 500 yrs ago. If I recall, someone said, fascism is a White thing, racism is a Black thing…0_O???

Well, if things build up we will see how they feel about both. I would guess that they would even be happy to see rows of police keeping order, so long as they don’t pull them over to get harassed. But the drying up of public funds is creating a strange atomsphere for poor Blacks, Latinos….and Whites. The requirements to need money to survive has been installed in most Americans since birth so, what do you think the reaction will be when, later this Fall when the funds they’ve grown accustom to using dries up? Blame + Anger = Crime. And there will only be us to blame for the catalyst of no turning back.

Believe it or not people but, that crime that had gone ignored and poverty arrogantly avoided, is now going to be the barometer of how this whole country succeeds from here on out. And the sick and twisted irony, the very same people who were avoided, will be the very same people that will define how hard we will get it in the head for walking too slow. If they want it, sooner or later its bound to catch on like twitter.

Such as things like people in Chicago who are now begging the same police departments they complained about, to stay out of their neighborhoods and defend family memebers who murder, now asking the Fed turned Cop Commissinoer to bring in the tanks and dogs to create order. His response? “Don’t ask for something you will regret.” If they keep asking enough, its only a matter of time someone will take them up on their offer. And it would have happened, not with some Elite legion of doom sitting around a table or even a talking head’s seemingly bias proposition.

No one will allow martial law more than a community that begs for it. And right now, the cry for help from the hood , is in stereo.

I’m going to blow the lid on something, that you may or may not have realized. Hoodrats have a love hate relationship with Subway® , Eat Fresh. Now I came to this conclusion due to the summer being my summer camp lunch go to. Its quick easy and filling yum yum yay. But, when I go, which is far and few and between (for the year) I always notice ONE THING. Everytime I go into a subway there is always some hoodrat berating the Subway sandwich girl, as if she cannot follow instructions. So after a dozen Subway’s I attended from my metorpolitain area I realized it was all the same, with memorable quotes like this:

I hope they card machine work, this bit%ch always broke

Um can you put one tomato PLEASE

I gotta watch them cause they be messing up my sandwich

and last but not least,

can you add more than that?! PLEASE (with an accompanied rolling of the eyes)

Now, you’d think I was jumping to conclusions but for every road trip I’ve taken where hoodrats locale within miles, it was the same conversation, same argument, if not variations of the statements made. I’m sure the wishes of the Subway maker is thinking, “I wish they couldn’t see us making this damn sandwish I’d…”. What I also noticed is that my card always works and the girl who does my sandwich is always on point.

What is always funny is that they assume the Indian chick on the register is incablable of using the cash register, as a reason their card is always declined. More than likely, from knowing, the checks cashed are probably in her name from that franchise or at least someone in the fam..in other words, she owns this b.i.t, so she understands money.

But whats hilarious is that they end up hella embarassed when I come in after them (or before) and it works and you seeing them wishing vexes on my card, like “Don’t Work Dont Work..Dammit…now I gotta come up with another excuse.” Only to start cussing out the people behind the counter I guess to hope they just say, get out and leave, with a free sandwich. Then for them to only return for lunch the next day, with evil eyes like they better not… My thing, if the service is so damn bad, why return..that answer I’m still trying to figure out… I guess to do it all over again with a free sandwich, cookie, chip and drink?

Oh another one is this need to go all Willy Wonka in a damn subway, seriously who goes there and gets all that mess on the front counter? My stuff cost the same every time but these chicks go in spend like $10 and realize they might have spent too much of their bus, hair, nail whatever money and go in with this infamous statement:

“I didnt ask for banana peppers, you gotta take this back” (When actually requested extra be put on)

Now I don’t want to speak on the Gates vs the Police situation but, if he acted anything like these chicks I see in Subway, then he might just have been due to some sorta of discipline, just saying. So as a note, Black women, if you don’t want to be labeled the angry broke ass sassy chick in Subway, git ya stuff together or risk being called another hoodrat in Subway.

I admit, I’ve been pretty jaded with all the things occuring in this country. If its not the damn Truth movement screaming abitrary things, its the left on crackhead doses of soma.

In addition, I really haven’t watched the news but I have had my ears online.

Of the latest of the list I’d like to call “What’s Wrong With Obama This Time, Geesh,” there seems to be a movement to expose his birth of origin. This group is called birther’s. (I wish I could say it and spell it). Their point, Obama was not born in this country, has committed fraud against the US constitution and should be arrested. Meh, I’ve heard worse but whatever gets them through their day.

Its clear they are shooting in the dark on this one. Why? Because its not that its not true or even a lie. Its that it DOESN’T MATTER.

Here is how I came to this conclusion. He ran again McCain who himself had come under scrutiny for not technically not being an America. Being that “allegedly” the place he was born didn’t exist until 5 years after, making him a citizen of Panama (what up fam) and not American. So, one we would have had a situation where either one of the Presidents would have had questionable citizenship which means, someone important DID NOT CARE.

See this group that wants everyone to know about this deadly global plan fails to realize, if all of this is true, why would US citizenship or the US constitution mean anything in a global government? Let’s say for the sake argument what they say is true. And Im playing neutral. Why would illegal immigration or what they think the US means would matter if we will share everything with the WORLD? Its obvious putting two men both with supposide questionable citizenship, that would make a statement. And it doesn’t help that they rile up these backwood Right wingers the way they riled up the Artsty Fartys lefties to get angry and vile enough to do something to really check em.

Please if you really feel this is true, focus on the bigger issues. Obama being a citizen according to their agenda, would be the last thing on their mind, if all of that is truly..true. Just saying.

Not to seem like a doomsday apologist, but until people actually start..err dying in mass, is there really much hype over this WHO flu? Cause I guess its not the Swine flu anymore and 2009 h1n1 is too damn long to say over and over.

I like mentioned on Saturday, there seems to be something missing with this…”potential pandemic,” like people actually dying (in mass numbers..200 yesterday, 300 last week, etc). Granted tomorrow will be officially a week since it became hype. I’m sure with all of the tweeting, etc the rumors don’t help and if photos of dead bodies poppued up we’d know…right?

It doesn’t help that they mention over 250,000 people die from the regular flu. When you put in perspective, why would this be that big of an issue unless… there is more to this story, either way, this whole, just enough info to worry and not enough to be concerned is a dangerous combo to create rumors and precautions that could actually lead to an issue, before something actually happens. Remember how 12 monkeys happened? Well the semi-spoiler led to a butterfly effect of the time-traveler, giving the idea of a flu to a guy, which resulted in a preemptive strike that, led to the actual release of a flu that would have been inevitable, no matter who started it. (I think my eyes just crossed trying to explain that.)

Either way, the prepping for this flu could easily leave us wide open for a real virus, if people don’t start getting gestation info and mapping. I would say how its interesting Africa hasn’t seem to be affective but, with Aids and all I doubt people are really relieved. Maybe a little smug…I get it, you’re forever dealing with disease.

Oh and sidebar: All of this, fake-caring but, blaming Mexico talk on the flu. The real issue comes down to this, if the Mexican government had better communication with their rural towns, these outside towsn would have received the medical support to not die in the first place, let alone spread. At this point, its the people with no contact to the city I worry for the most. They’ve been alone before all of this.

If you wanted to know the temperament of a community, especially one that is “so passionate” about food. Could you determine how that community would respond in an actual crisis? As funny as it is, we see the Swine Flu has stress tested the Mexican community’s ability to abide by martial law with fear. We also can either accept or ignore the fact, could Hurricane Katrina have turned out different it they served (good) food in the Saints dome?

You really have to think about that cause I think they’ve found the ultimate weakness in the Black community.

They are in a whole nuther tax bracket so anything you think you might say, is soo out of range, losing a million just on taxes isn’t even fathomed. Now I’ll explain why there is nothing wrong and how Russell is gonna get a triple return on his investments.

Aoki and Ming…they are investments. He’s paying them 40K a month now but after their branding blows up and with those funds parlay into and trained in the best schools for business management, etc they will flip that 40K for about 15 years into potentially a billion. That’s all I hear with that amount.

People forget these kids already have their own clothing line, one of them is considering modeling and/or entertainment. And unlike most baby moms, she’s got her own thing. If their mother and father leave them their businesses, those kids will create a managable surplus and build the businesses and expansions to the lengths them might not have even considered. Not to knock Diddy’s kids but Simmons kids seem to do very well making their parents money…I mean look at Pastry.

Not to knock kids who get child support but for the fathers who pay, I’ll speak for you… Its more than likely they will never be millionaires or marry wealthy, thus not putting hella money back in your pocket. Sorry so, paying, you’re more likely to not pay and the son turn pro. Then on top of it, most of those kids and the baby moms spend the money on nothing and then it comes with drama. No businesses, no investments nor mergers no trust nothing but cell phone bills and busted Jordan sneakers. See 50 Cent’s baby’s mother.

Donald Trump, Prince of Monaco, they all do it so lets stop acting brand new, cause Simmons are becoming legacy money.

Its normal to hear (or over hear) about an elderly person that has moved to the “Uppa room” and left the church most of their amassed wealth, while leaving the living family with their surmountable debt. Some not even near death, spend nearly $20 a visit in the collection plate. Consider adding up to an average of 2 visits a week for over 20 years? Little did most of them know, the social dynamics of churches are actually equated to Wall Street. Investing, predicting determine who leads/manages. Wishing and praying some things to work out while damning other’s to fail. With money being left to them by death and pride, I’m surprised the urban church community doesn’t actually hold more assets. For the people and all.

Considering how much money people spend at a church that contributes to seasonal acts of kindness. It also contributes to pride, gossip, jealously, laundering, envy and the Pastors brand new Lexus, all for the sake of being needed or improtant. Sounds like’s most description of Wall Street doesn’t it? So who shares the villain title on the poor now?

The amount of nearly $50 a week for over 20 years, could combine to a nice savings that can be used for good and for responsibility. Now investing in the church and that’s exactly what it is, that’s fine. I’m sure there are moments people see their investment with potato salad, charter buses and reunion t-shirts In many Black churches it was the source of community investment and expansion, during the time banks didn’t allow Blacks or Latino communities (based on undocumented customers.) Its fair to say most people of color (Jews included) at one point in this country needed their religious community to manage the local economy.

But here is the problem, over 50 years later, those direct needs are antiquated, yet the churches’ opulence and greed has gotten stronger. To make matters worse, the Reverends are now paid by special interest groups to indoctrinate ideals and customers, they now receive the maximum allowance of social funds and tax breaks and it seems more than ever, its not enough.

Many have been guilty of exploiting the financial ignorance of their church goers by scaring religion into them, to hand over their money for salvation. Instead of assisting with patrons who own homes, with properly balancing their check books and advocating responsible mortgages. They wait till it hits the fan and complain not during the process and but afterwards. These are the same people that allow their patrons to pay them, when they know $20 can mean no food for the week, all for the sake to exploit pride in the church.

Now, when it comes to values, many exploit the mention the questionable quote of an old woman, who gave everything she had for the church (I’m paraphrasing). Now, I’m not here to rewrite history but, it seems like a slight revision to the scriptures to assure, you have right to sell everything you own, not for Gd or Jesus but for someone who has anointed themselves, Gd’s messenger, for the great good….them. You can’t serve two masters right? I’ve always seen that as a sly way to say, its either the Pastor or Gd. Mind you how many times the word of Gd has been revised to model after whoever was ruling at the time, for their personal gain.

In this recession, I have learned more things about myself and my values for money. I look for spiritual guidance not to amass wealth but to be given the strength to make the right decisions, especially if I gain or lose money. To have the confidence in the bigger plan regardless if I like, that’s where my confidence in my sprit lays. When I question that plan, I fail. When I have the choice, I see that as a gift accountability.

We all have the choice to allow ourselves to confuse our wealth, our place in church, our success and the simplicity that Gd asks of us. Sadly people are running to church to help them restore opulence, instead of asking if this is a chance to make all their wrongs…right. Take away distractions.

I always think its amazing how when ever I need money, it falls in my lap and when I want it, I never get. Churches need to realize they are being tested and bleeding funds out of their patrons for self gain during are terrible time, you are no different that Wall Street.

It was brought to my attention today that in making note of Magic Johnson’s point of “minorities” proving the world that they can be successful and my point about some of the most wealthiest people on the planet being of Middle Eastern decent, yet considered minority in America, Busta Rhymes also had something to say on the matter.

Over at Bol’s site I think he hit it on the head about it being a “Ah-rab” minstrel show and to sprinkle the truth in that, Soulja [sic] Boy’s appearance in this :”Ah-Rab” Money video, solidified his seemingly final minstral tour for the year. And someone in the comments made the same thing I thought, could they really do a Hebrew Money? Hell, lets get Asia and whatever hyper 1st class country on the list… Hong Kong Money?

First off, I thought Busta was Rastafarian, not Muslim so him making that point is a head scratcher. For those that know, thats a BIGGG wtf. Esp with Rasta’s being the original Jews and all. I could also say, that though Dj Khald and Akon made an appearance to help make this a hit on that Middle East MTV channel experiment. And I could also say, think I’m suppose to be “offended.” Though I would be easy on singing this around them old Arabs…just saying.

Then again, I spent most of my college freshman year dispelling assumptions making the point that having South Asian blood doesn’t make me Muslim…just teachers jacking up my name and getting harassed at the airport.

The crazy part, for those unaware, Busta is on the money about a good number of Middle Eastern people by US terms, balling out of control. Seriously, everyone is foreclosing by me yet, its a least one luxury car in the drive through and people are still shopping normally.
