Within the next hours (a few days ago), depending on when whom ever reads this, Lebron James chooses his NBA team. While many cities are rallying for his arrival or mainstay, there is a open truth no one wants to acknowledge, who can really afford him?

Sure the NBA teams are allowed budgets to campaign and sign on but ,the cities themeselves, with high unemployment and state budget woes, there is just something unsettling about cities with love/hate relationships with millionaires. You know wanting someone who can bring money to a state or city, where there is already suppose to be industry, its like an unofficial anointing…kinda creepy.

See for me, its about who ever gets him that will base the next fiscal year on the money made by non-Lebron people. While there is money made in merchandise, for cities that are currently in the Red, which so happen to be all the cities vying for him, can a location with only so few millionaires, accidently turn into a real monarchy or an Egypt style government? I mean if you look at a Chicago or even Cleveland, can they really afford to sustain his livestyle? Not that he’s a flashy dude but, what do they have to offer him? There is not much investment potential in many of these cities.

For example a place like Chicago, Jordan was actually hated on for not investing in the city where there was not return. They just wanted money from him to floss. Jordan said no, got called an A-hole but he was actually smart because most of the financial deals were shrowided in politial controversy. See most business dealing in Chicago are fueld with politics. And political business dealings, I always see as some old dude’s M.O, not someone with actual earning potential.

Hell look at Antoine Walker. All that money, there was nothing there to sustain his monies aside from some run down places, baby momma beauty supply stores and a sneaker shop. What could Lebron be offered aside from lake front property?

These cities, aside from being broke, are not the most rich friendly cities. Like a LA where there many Venture Caplists and of course a New York or Miami where there is constant enterprise outside of real estate. Trust he’s taking this into consideration, not the franchise.

Being the richest guy in town can accidentally turn Lebron’s theoretical King title into an inevitability. People don’t realize Jordan didn’t live live in Chicago. He lived on the outskirts away from the “Help A Brutha Out” foundations and the “What’s in for Me” shake downs. And those kinds of mentions are only rampant in a broke ass city. Places that make money are not bombarded with that and mainly have a “we got a venture you should invest in,” vibe.

Its no secret Chicago is plagued with a lot legitimate crooks. Remember the robbing epedemic a few years ago with the athletes. It got so bad, Tank Johnson got caught up like T.I trying to protect himself from the streets that he “forgot” to pay back. (But that’s his fault) but I speculate.

Aside from playing in a humble town like a Minnesota or Denver where things can get upscale but obviously stay demnure, places like a Chicago or Cleveland are “big cities” yet there is a attitude against capitalism. They play union but want non-union money and Mr. Nike aka Big Box, brand name may get the life sucked out of him, and then robbed. No matter what city he chooses unless he knows something we don’t know about the future of team he joins, it’s going to be less about the team and more about the area’s current or potential industry that will land Lebron.

This re-emergance of “Serfdom” talk is developing on a disturbing trend but not as distrubing as the failure to realize its already in progress. And its only new to societies that forgot they are apart of the Human Capital process. Its like justifiying history to make it seem like a mutal agreement to work like a dog, simply because the pride was too strong to admit certain people just were never “that” in charge to begin with. Turning American into Pre-Bacon revolt status workers is not only perpetual, its inevitable.

With the emphasis on low skilled workers, its not so much the change the way the government works but the alterations to sorta weed out the schoolers and downgrade them to a more realistic job aspect. You know, encouraging students to do less college and more vocational…cause thats where the jobs will end up. No not become inventors but, really good at putting together other people’s ideas…eek x2. I know in Hawaii and some places with factories they actually encourage students to just not do all that unnecessary education and junk, It would just confuse things and jack up the local economy….n’junk.

I don’t know why I feel I will see Bujie office workers, in the same factory with Meth heads, undocumented workers and hoodrats, in fields sorting corn, on I-57. I mean, for the longest the social majority felt they were in charge instead of temporary managers. I can see it now, someone bumping elbows with Bloomberg or Buffet on some, “They don’t know like we do huh?!” And the Billionaire simply say, “how you get pass security and were’s my scotch!”

I think the realization is starting to set in that the rich are not really in the wealthy clique. Now to not get all homeworky, it seems as if the Robin Hood movie made people see similarities in being “Taxed” and/or unfairly treated by authrotiy. I don’t know about specific references or whatever but, when I see people, not African working in fields, living in squalor…I see slave. You can jazz it up with all of this Serif crap but no.. Sorry.

I know as far as historical accuracy many people will pull out dates and other exact facts that trump my references but the truth is….until the Plague and Gutenburg came along, Serf’s were running the city as much as the Master allowed them. And the contracts they couldn’t even read was the only paper that appears to have applied them as “Serf’s,” go figure.

I think the real question is, can we now go more in-depth of slavery pass the African passages?

By the way, have you ever looked up the regions declared Human Capital…creepy stuff. I sooo hope this is speculative. I mean if thats your thing, then I guess Serfdom is a plus but, hey I like Coconut Ice Cream and Clear Pepsi, what do i know.

Ah yes. Education setup where you get A’s, B’s, C’s and that other crap and determine how much of a failure society will label you in life. And in some cases like a school I went to, we were lucky to have E’s S’s and U’s. I guess to not tramatize us kids with the epic fail on poorly drawing a kitty cat or some junk.

But, in the world of credit. With all of the states, nearly and completely defaulting on loans, banks who provide yes’s or no’s on small businesses themselves are now being evaluated for questionable credit scores. A lot of DOWNGRADES are happening but no one is actually failing.

Yes Standards and Poors and Mitch are coming hard and this strange trend seems to appear. No one is actually getting bad grades. There are A+’s and A-’s, A1′s and Aa3′s. Really Aa3′s? Really, in a state like Illinois, an Aa3′s in school…those fools would just get D’s and C’s. Seriously. If you can’t pay your bill back, if the state of Illinois or Cali was a small taffy making business, the load paper would simply say DENIED.

Sure I know there is technically in the labeling of credit ratings but seriously. If schools don’t pass out Aa3′s its as delusional as a big and tall store (for women) turning size 18′s into size 2′s, or call a fat chick thick. Serious if getting a Aa3 is just a damaging as saying a F why not just saying and get this thing fixed.

Let’s make this clear.

The BP Oil disaster is the first and official test of how non stereotyped and inconceivably calm, Obama is as a Black President. Yes I said it. Obama…is not Kanye.

For some reason, the envisioned sight of Obama as far back as the election of him freaking out and crying for a 2am phone call must have still stayed in the impressions for many people. Remember the 2am call. Sure because we aren’t hearing what’s happening, it can seem like he’s not doing anything but, it just seems like it. If anything its probably worse and he’s way cooler that we’d be.

I’ll just say it, there seems to be this comfort of the crying, confused and/or violently emotionally charged Black man that people seem to expect . And this far in his presidency, it seems like people still can’t shake that he’s not led by emotion but strategy. Go figure right.

Now from personal expereince, there is a strange need for people to be comfortaed by a person of color being broke down, flat out angry and in need of help. I dont know if its a matter of other communities thinking, “as long as they’re more jacked up, we can at least sleep knowing, they can’t pass us up in the morning.” But I speculate.

I remember in tennis, our team mental coach said, “when they hit the wall with the racket, they’ve lost their cool.”

When the oppurtinity to exhbit those attributes do present themselves, the slick talk of “too cool,” and even “robotic” comes up, all with the intent verbally expression frustration for failed attempts of manipulation. But, who’s problem is that really.

But has anyone ever thought that despite the freaking out like most people today seem to exhibit, some people just hand problems calmer? And isn’t a calm thinking person in the time of a catastrophe sometime called, um what is that….a LEADER?

I mean seriously, Bobby Jindal my Indian brother seemed to calm people down by freaking out. James Carevel, who is by the looks not White or even human freaked out, that’s okay. Obama said Ass oooh. So they all care, cuz they cuss.

But seriously if Obama acted like Arsenio Hall in Harlem Nights, I’m sure the concensous would be, “I knew that Negro couldn’t handle it.” I’m sure they thought he’d handle BP like this:

Could the calmness and collectiveness of trying to solve this problem expose the real issue (besides the oil situation) that people have with Obama? I mean not to slap a wet baby down but, that region was not the most color friendly and Jindal showed progress. ,But, during the distruibution of stimulus money they didnt want any and now this, they should have had it just as much as NYC with terrorism.

And despite the claims of the industry being ruined by the oil, based on the interviews I’ve seen most were going bankrupt before hand. Granted the addition of Katrina stress hurt. But damn. But I do have to give Jindal probs for stepping up or the boaters being honest and non-handoutish and junk. To be fair. The real question is, could Jindal act like this with flotilla, immigration and this junk on the brain…and be calm.

Personally I’m more disturb at Tennessee response more than anything. But shinny keys.

And to show how bogus Obama would have looked flinching to the suspicions ouf being cold, the Mayor of Alabama, who at first was mad that the President didnt say the coast was viturally clear, is now emotionally embarrassed after people came to their coast for vaycay, based on his clams a week ago, only to encounter oil that he made point was not there.

Now Black folks are not in the clear, they like to envision the dumb “Hill Billy” image on White America. But it is strange how there never seem to be any boaters of color being interviewed. I recall seeing a mad amount of gnerational Asians in a documentary a while back. In all fairness, its jacked up.

I have my thoughts and theories but in the end, the only race I want to see for anything and everywhere, is leadership.

There was one where he discussed the Magical Negro. A good listen.I heard it and like most, I alway respect his perspective because, even if you agree or whole heartly disagree, his points either weaken your stance or enhance it. Regardless, hearing well though out arguments should always enhance your point.

One of those points was the Magical Negro comment, most made famous during the first your of the President, in 2009. While I agree on the Bagger Vance of magic, Black folks have to portray in movies to help ease White America fear of a Black superpowered hero , pre Obama. Claiming Obama had to be magical to even win, yeah but being educated as seen as magical, is where that confused me. Unlike Bagger Vance, Obama, is a real dude. He went to real college and has a real law degree from an actual Ivy League school. His wife is not only real but, his kids are not juking on the White House lawn to Piles.

I remember when a White college professor was trying to “bond” by agreeing, the Cosby Show wasn’t really real. I guess she must have heard some work-release dude beefing. I quickly responded with a simple “What, Black people don’t go to college?” And thats what we really have to evaluate. See Sidney Potiter’s characters, Tariq pointed out were magical but, my problem was, I actually knew/know people like that. So for me, it confused me again. Asking around about what movies Black folks watch, a lot of them had never even seen anything past the Color Purple or Dolomite. And I thought, what does that do if you grow up never seeing people in charge, not only in movies but in real life. Does it expose insecurities and set low standards? Does it shed light on a sadden atmosphere or does it just create an irresponsible midset for people to think of it as so unobtainable its “Magical”.

See for me, before I moved to Chicago, the hood was magical too me. Seeing Black generals in the military; Black people well versed in foreign languages and culture, seeing a Black mayors in Atlanta or even seeing Black millionaires as a child, I never knew Black people could even celebrate a baby shower for a 12 girl like a Bar Mitzvah or tell their children to play dumber to raise monthly supplemental checks.

Living in Chicago’s wild hunin’s helped me appreciate how much heart is in the hood. I didn’t stick my nose up but, learned and observed to respect no matter the neighborhood. But, having the life pre-req’s, it also showed me how mentally warped and self sabotaging, they become. Some of the smartest, most savviest business minded people, in the hood are some of the same who think growing up and out of the hood is “Magical.” Its clear the magical mantra has become an elixir to make excuses so, if they fail they get to say, its not like its real any ways.

And so for someone like Tariq, self educated, once homeless and now a successful best selling author. I think even he’d laugh at the fact, trying to sell him and who he is on people in and out the hood, now they don’t even think HE’s real. Now how is that for magical. lol

Yep, its that time again, where a whole race completely ignores the greatest truths about modern struggles and advancements to simply talk about slavery, hot-combs, and “Did You Know” so- in’ soo really invented, while interrupting a very special episode of Moesha. And to really annoy you, hearing those annoying kids talk in that shouting condescending patgent voice about who they really are and how they are going to be somebody.

Yep, its Black History. When I was little I really enjoyed this time because I learned new things. As a kid, you love that part, if your wise enough to know why, so early. Like I mentioned, staying in Atlanta for a bit, I was able to not only live down the street from the King house, we knew the family and had enough to respect to say mam’ when ever we saw Correta Scott King. Believe it or not, meeting them, around the same time seeing actual Klans members, really gave me respect, even after being hated on for not “really” being Black by actual Black folks. I think I should spend every Black history month noting racist things Black folks actually do, to know progress and all.

See for me the 1940′s, ie Black Resinnsace era is for me personally Black America’s golden era. Black ppl hated Welfare, men collectively rolled up tailored sleeves to change a tire without copin out; women still collective cooked without attitude; there were too many actual racist people around to actually blame racism for EVERYTHING, Why? Too many Black Americans expanded in literature, college, science, music, business, all while still having a possibility to get hung.

The hyper educated, were mainly blameless, and knew how to have a good time, for what now most pro hyper Black to Africa people would call cooning. Ironically there were more functioning and educated families at that time then now. So who’s the coon?

So I’m going to call out the Black to Africa’s who are usually Muslim and to settle and make point about everything being the White slave owners….Black people were slaves in Africa…before White people picked them up. Sure, Black people were Kings and Queens but they have servants…we call them slaves. But thats not my point…the ARAB SLAVE trade is one thing I never understood how it some how is always left out every BHM. For some reason people either ignore it or what? I dunno

So the most notorious slavery movemnt in human history was purported by the Arabs and then picked up by Whites. Can someone explain how there are so many Pro Black Muslims who make note about slavery and racial injustice and seemingly well read, always leave this big major historical event out? The way I see it, if we all looked at that moment in the 40′s EVERYONE was a minority, ironically even the Irish. My main thing, I understand Black pride, its good to motivate but, it does seem strange when the Black Renaissance movement started to die off, Black pride replace actual Black productiveness. And if anyone knows a proud person, that’s usually code for insecure.

Its just sad that Black Americans are ignoring some of the most pivotal movements over many generations to be proud about people and places they may not even be from or apart of. The truth is always better story than the lie.
