Sylvia Rhone of Epic Records Steps Down

At the end of September, daily operations will temporarily be overseen by Zeke Lewis (President) and Rick Sackheim (General Manager) following her departure, but a permanent replacement has not yet been named by the label or Sony Music.

Her historic and highly successful 11-year tenure, signals Sony gearing towards more signing and developing major hip-hop, pop, and R&B acts.

Coi Leray, Travis Scott, Tyla, Meghan Trainor and André 3000, were some of her last projects to oversee. Coi Leray was the latest success, with Future, Metro Boomin, 21 Savage, and Peso Pluma’s 2024 sales making the largest impact at the label.

Rhone was noted for helping develop the careers of Missy Elliot, MC Lyte, Nicki Minaj and Rah Digga.
