Calm Down, Tiktok Started Changing Up Before the 2025-26

Not sure if people didn’t do viral tiktok’s on the business state of Tiktok but, the signs of changing policies on payments showed it’s true colors as early as 2023. While the sale of Tiktok began in Trump’s first term in July 2020, on Aug 6, 2020 Trump signed an Executive Order 13942 with aims to ban TikTok in 45 days unless a sale happens. By Aug 14, 2020, a second executive order was applied that formally directed China operated ByteDance to divest its U.S. TikTok assets within 90 days.

By April 2024 the then Biden era administration signed the Congress bill passed a “divest or ban” TikTok bill as part of a foreign‑aid package.

The Tiktok timeline of limiting pay per view incomes was a slow running inevitability that was simply not discussed enough in reality.

Recently, tiktok content creators say they went from earning thousands per month to a few hundred or less on similar views, leading people to call 2026 a “TikTok pay crash” or say the program is “dead.”

2023

In the United States, Dec 16, 2023, the Original Creator Fund shut down for U.S. creators. TikTok started pushing people toward the new Creativity/Creator Rewards‑style program.

In the United Kingdom, Dec 16, 2023 the Creator Fund discontinued for UK creators, same date and policy as the U.S. change.

For Germany, Dec 16, 2023 the Creator Fund discontinued for German creators.

For France, began Dec 16, 2023, the Creator Fund discontinued for French creators.

In Italy & Spain, late 2023 the Creator Fund remains active in Italy and Spain.

2024

United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Brazil, Japan, South Korea, implemented it’s Creator Rewards / Creativity Program, available to creators and continued to replace the old Fund for pay‑per‑view monetization throughout the uear.

Overall the “Effect Creator Rewards” within Multi‑countries expansioned Mar 11, 2024.

Effect Creator Rewards is a separate monetization track for AR effects, expanded to 33 additional regions, including Argentina, Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Belarus, Chile, Colombia, Czechia, Denmark, Ecuador, Egypt, Greece, Hungary, Israel, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Mexico, Morocco, New Zealand, Norway, Oman, Peru, Portugal, Qatar, Romania, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey and Uruguay.

2025

Creator Rewards eligibility reaffirmed (official documentation)2025 creator‑academy/support pages: Creator Rewards is “currently open” to creators based in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, South Korea, France, and Brazil; other countries, including Canada, remain excluded from the main rewards program.

2026

Some content presenters state that views “don’t count” if they come from non‑eligible countries or that TikTok can suspend or limit payouts with little explanation.

Many creators also report that Creator Rewards payouts have dropped sharply in late 2025 and early 2026, with “RPM” (money per 1,000 views) far lower than before or suddenly fluctuating.
