Austrian painter Arnulf Rainer passed December 18,;2025. Rainer’s lots as of last month, go up to 1,651. His painting estate is not publicly documented but prior works valued at least 600,000€ ($699,270).
His technique was known as “Over painting” dating back to the 1950s.
For the most recent 12‑month period (January–December 2025), one platform reports 232 sold lots across 50 auction houses in 10 countries. The total sales for 2025 alone totaled around 2 million USD.
