Fake degrees have been a thing for a minute but, with school districts and universities going through their own recession, the auditing of legitimate credentials of school instructors, professors and administrators have many states reconsidering if that 68% above general pay scale professor, might not even be credentialed to receive that absorbent increase.

The Titled Tier
The incentive to pay a school teacher more than a general credentialed teacher and even more than a non-certified teacher has caused some schools to pay these presumed credential holders six figures against an already struggling school budget. But what if they find out those credentials are faked? Right now a lot of people are afraid to admit they messed up. They let something go on long enough, and now they just pretend its not true. The amount of salaried and pension holders in states access of America need a audit if they want to save their budgets. Because with so many school districts flat out broke, it might have to be something to consider.
Un/Happy Accident
In the same way ICE is running peoples names and learning they’re not who they say they are, could this same process be necessary for looking into fake degrees beyond the typical “Degree Mill” abject?

I know some reality stars have been getting ran through the grinder posing as college graduates but, its a lot of Aunties and Unc’s adding “Dr” to their names within school districts and universities registries with no credentials. And Its a lot more common than people think with untrained and abusive professors flexing with no validations. It probably wouldn’t even be a problem if they didn’t have the tendency to end up make $126K over credentialed employees making $50K. And were talking American citizens scamming and sitting back with pensions from 20-30 years ago based on this lie.

Clearing House
Since around 1993, the National Student Clearinghouse has been a membership-based platform that schools and universities used to verify enrollment for students. DegreeVerify tool was implemented in 2001 to determine if people are were capping about their credentials and degrees. This has been important reality because with that credential title it has lead to million dollar grant allotment, salary increases, and operational control over billion dollar budgets. Those schools that are now being investigated for ICE and International student conflicts, have now opened a can of worms of American citizens that used that weaponized that lack of oversight. This 30+ failure, despite Clearinghouse, has been used to exploit the “manual background check,” process that pretty allows people to make up what ever the hell they want with no due diligence.
That 50-11 Degree Auntie Is Probably Lying Her Ass Off
Here is the problem with lying about being a certified Teacher or credentialed Professor, these false titles are usually entitled to across the board salary increases. Those misbalanced salaries cause pay cuts to the actually staffing. Now instead of simply lying about a degree, if enforced could result in grand theft and fraud but, a possible recouping of Billions in wage theft going back to even pension theft could be the national school systems saving grace. To be even messier, its technically considered Grand Larceny and Mail fraud.

btw Open Payrolls will have you looking a lot of people sideways when you see how much they get paid vs what they claim they are to the public. Also people who have been GROSSLY underpaid.
School Recouping
The review of this nationwide scam could salvage multi Billions in revenue, saving many schools from debt. We aren’t even including restitution that can result in paying back the wage difference. See that’s the main issue with “teacher unions” whining about salaries. A lot of them are not certified but, go online or media outlets to build up this narrative of being unfairly paid. Meanwhile they’re making way more than they even put the effort to learn how to do their jobs. Look, the public has a right mind to feel teachers should be fairly compensated but the public right now is under this shady pastor spell of assuming a complaint equals a valid crisis. A lot of these people complaining are weaponizing the mindset of protest to harvest enough anger, having people supporting sh!t they don’t even know is right or wrong enough to defend. They just hate the regulation of it all.
The Process
In most state and local public education and university systems, someone merely holding a Bachelor’s degree, then being credentialed up to a Master’s or Doctorate can end up with at least $12,000 in extra revenue. Not including professional development incentives or grant PI titles. Now getting a little extra as a grant Principal Investigator is not actually a negative, especially if the experience is valid for the research but, a lot grants are favored towards these credentials, leaving small businesses and even smaller institutions out of the running for valid research, lacking “credentials.” Then we have the pensions that are now in the multi billions, draining property taxes of citizens, state infrastructure budgets, all for these geriatric scammers.
Can This Ever Be Made Right?
Having previously advised seniors who were robbed of their 10-20 year salaries from pay cuts once they left, only to retire with over 50% less, due to masking these fake credentialed employees, it is secretly the worse crisis for Black retirees in primary/secondary education and university level employment. With lack of oversight for Black workers in education the main culprit have been other Black employees with little to no degrees, doing what ever the hell they want, and then pivoting to academic gurus, tiktoking, and podcasting about the “poor state of education.”
Because the stolen money is never recouped, many hard working Black seniors are ending up in bad situations that are then needed to be assisted with the states and the local governments ignoring. And lets be honest the leaders in the community are where they are because of that same “alleged” fake credential scamming. Unfortunately when Black elders get hurt finically no one cares until a hot button topic speaks around it but its never resolved. Just know if you ever want to know at least for local schools, just visit your State Education Credential website and you’d be surprised how many people don’t exist or show up with WT (withdraw) credentials used to get hired, with the false intent of validating their credentials and never get around to it, but still end up with the job or pensions. It might even be a visible track record of retaliatory firings and unfair payment methods, specially towards Black employees and Non Black whistleblowers.
